New Website Launch
In December 2022, we redesigned and launched a new WordPress website for Vavasseur Antiques to improve the design of their portfolio and branding. When meeting with the client, we proposed a new theme that would allow them to create templates for portfolio items which could be applied to the individual item pages. The main challenge we faced was migrating content from the old website, which included the media gallery, portfolio and categories. These were migrated into the new theme, and the new portfolio design was applied to each item. We also improved the accessibility of the new site by improving the colour contrast of headings in front of featured images.
As part of the redesign, our in-house Graphics Designer created a new logo which built on the previous design. We provided the client with a selection of 5 new logos to choose from. When the new logo was agreed with the client, we added it to the website and sent over the image files to be utilised in future branding. Our WordPress developer continues to support the website by keeping the WordPress updated to the latest version and installing Plugins to ease content creation. Our team also maintains the server it occupies and renews the SSL certificates periodically for the security of the website and its Users.
Hosting Package
The server itself is A rated on https://www.ssllabs.com/ and is updated and backed up on a monthly basis so that new content is stored safely. Antivirus software is also installed as part of our hosting package to help keep the website safe from external threats. The client also contacts us for advice on designs and any new features to be added. A site-wide search has also been implemented to help Users find specific portfolio items quickly.
